Ebony Models is the oldest modeling agency in Barbados and only a year ago the agency changed its name to Bessems and Thorne Ebony Models of Barbados. This agency is the main agency of choice when models are recruited for fashion shows and filmings in various Caribbean islands. This agency laid the foundation for international model Teneile Stoute who has been signed to Karen Models and featured in Essence Magazine, Marie Claire Magazine, Mademoiselle Magazine and numerous Black Hair Magazines. It has been given significant status in the fashion area via Tanya Griffith winning the 2005 title of Supermodel of the Eastern Caribbean.
