JULY 14TH WAS THE OFFICAL LAUNCH OF THE MR. & MISS BARBADOS WORLD PAGEANT 2007 THE LAUNCH TOOK PLACE AT THE ESCAPE HOTEL & SPA AND IT WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS. Thanks very much to everyone who braved the weather to come out and join us on this memorable occasion. It was a warm, wet and wonderful evening. Attending the event was Minister of Housing & Lands Mr. Reginald Farley, AJA - United Nations Peace Ambassador for Poverty Eradication Barbados & Eastern Caribbean, Former Ambassador & current Permanent Secretary to the Attorney General Miss Sonja Welch, Directors of Got Rhythm Glen White & George Thomas, Financial Controller of Escape Hotel & Spa Oscar Ifill, Corey Marshall Director of Barbados Amateur Model Search, Karate Hall of Famer Corey Withers, Kingsley Thorne - Ebony Models, Troy Arthur - Mystical Touch Models, Tanya Griffith - Caribbean Top Model, Donna Archer - Finalist in Caribbean Top Model among others. George Thomas delivered the feature address and I could not have asked for better person to articulate my thoughts and vision for this pageant. He eloquently out-lined the goals of ChaseLint Productions and what he believed the benefits this pageants holds for young people in Barbados. The contestants gave a great account of themselves as they introduced themselves to the judges and guests. It was an incredible evening of class and elegance which culminated as the contestants delivered the theme song for this years pageant written by myself WE ALL MUST LIVE. I am a cry baby so it brought me to tears because I believe that this has been the best pageant launch Barbados has ever seen. YES I SAID SO!!! Next Week the contestants will present their HIV/AIDS AWARENESS PROJECTS to the National HIV/AIDS Commission. Stay tuned for more details. |
