ARRIVAL OF KARA DACOSTA-NICHOLLS

WELCOME TO BARBADOS KARA DACOSTA - NICHOLLS

Yes the long anticipated arrival of Kara has been the talk of the town. Some contestants are quite jittery (I wonder why?) Kara flew from Jakarta, India to London then straight to Barbados determined to make it in time for the pageant she cut her trip to South Africa short by one week. She will be hard in rehearsal from tomorrow with pageant director Stephanie Chase. While in Barbados Kara is staying with her grand-mummy. We wish her much success and hope that her encounters with fellow contestants  are memorable ones.

NO HOBBY-CLASS!!

It seems that there are people going around thinking that they will get into the Mr. & Miss Barbados World 2007 pageant for free. Please note that if you are not in possession of an invitation, a complimentary ticket or a ticket which has been paid for legally then you will not be allowed into the event.

Do not turn up and expect to call for the national director to get in free. It will not happen.

Do not turn up and expect to call for a commitee member to get in free. It will not happen.

Do not turn up and expect to go backstage. The Police will escort you out.

Tickets are on sale for $60.00 as registered with the Customs & Excise VAT Division of Barbados. You can purchase your tickets from at C.S. Pharmacy, Lower Broad Street, St. Michael or any MBW contestant or committee member.

Any person selling tickets for under $60.00 is doing so illegally and will be prosecuted under the full extent of the law.

BARBADOSEMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF FUND

The MBW Organisation joined many businesses and Barbadians who opted to assist in raising funds for the recently launched Barbados Emergency Disaster Relief Fund. Karla Yearwood and Fabian Bartlett spear-headed the initiative on behalf of the 2007 contestants even though most of the contestants did not wish to participate Emerald, Karla, Natalie, Fabian, Taleah and her sister Natalie Chandler along with National Director Stephanie Chase who pooled together and pledged $300.00 ($100 of which came from Taleah & her sister Natalie).

The total may not have been much but those who participated were pleased to make a contribution to such a worthy cause.
